Youth Program Scholarships

The Lakeville Parks and Recreation Department, with the assistance of civic groups, organizations, local businesses, and other donors, has a limited amount of resources set aside to provide fee assistance for children to participate in recreational activities. Youth Program Scholarships will be granted in accordance with the following conditions: 

Who is eligible?

Lakeville residents 17 years of age and younger. Resident means living in the Lakeville city boundaries permanently and being a City of Lakeville taxpayer.

If a parent or guardian applies, do all individuals 17 and younger living in the household become eligible?

Yes. Those individuals living in the same household who are dependents and are claimed as dependents for income tax purposes are eligible.

How does my family qualify?

  • If the resident child(ren) receives aid through the School District. The resident must show verification of current aid received to verify participation. This verification must be provided at the time of application and before registering for any program or activity. 
  • If the resident receives aid from Dakota County. The resident must contact the Dakota County financial worker to provide them with verification of their income status as a recipient of Dakota County funds. This verification must be provided at the time of application and before registering for any program or activity. 
  • If the resident receives aid from Social Security, the following verification must be provided: The resident must call the Social Security office and request a printout of their financial status. This printout must be provided at the time of application and before registering for any program or activity. Please note: All names and financial information provided are considered private data and are subject to privacy of information provisions, under State Statute.

How much assistance can my family receive through the youth scholarship program?

Each individual or family member approved in the program would be eligible for a maximum of $300.00 per calendar year. A minimum co-payment of 20% will be required of the applicant.

The availability of scholarships is dependent on funding resources. Please complete one form per child and submit to the Recreation Department.
